This twelve-story brick and stone apartment building was designed by Sugarman and Berger in 1929. The firm designed several landmarked buildings throughout Manhattan, as well as the New Yorker Hotel. Renowned Egyptologist, author, and curator William C. Hayes lived here until his death in 1963. He worked as a consultant on Cecil B. DeMille’s lucrative final film The Ten Commandments.
