This is Henry V. Murphy’s drawing of the 13-building, 100-acre campus for St. John’s University. The site was previously the Hillcrest Golf Club property, purchased by the Brooklyn university in 1936. Murphy was a significant architect of Catholic churches in Brooklyn and Queens. The campus also includes the centerpiece St. Augustine Library from 1965 by Ferrenz & Taylor, as well as a 1970s school of law by Carson, Lundin & Shaw.
