Kitty corner from the Lyon Block, where South Mall Towers is now, stood Alfonso's Restaurant, owned Joseph and Dorothy Aiello. The Aiellos, owners of several other South Mall properties in addition to Alfonso's, contested the State's reimbursement offer. That is why the young man in the far left corner of this photograph, a state employee, was at the bar on the day this photo was taken.
