"Surf Ave., at the S.E. corner of West 10th Street, showing the "Cyclone" a roller coaster, 1932"
The Cyclone is a wooden roller coaster that opened in Coney Island 1927, after the success of two other wooden roller coasters (the Thunderbolt and the Tornado). It was designed by coaster designer Vernon Keenan, with a 2,640 foot long track, which includes six fan turns and twelve drops. In 1927 the cost of riding the Cyclone was 25 cents.
