Today, the FDNY’s Bronx Communications Office is located in the building.

In 2011, the short block of East 180th Street between Defoe and Bronx Park Avenues was named in honor of Dennis O’Connell, a veteran FDNY dispatcher and bagpiper who died in 2008.
