"Elderts Lane, at the S.W. corner of Jamaica Ave., showing Dan Cobb's grocery store at what is now (1929) 1004 Jamaica Ave. This structure was erected on Ackerly's ground. It was conducted as a store by Daniel Cobb from 1850 (?) to 1860. It is not a store on the maps of 1873. The building was demolished in April 1925. A 1-story garage occupies the site. Elderts Lane is at this point marks the border between Brooklyn and Queens (Cypress Hill and Woodhaven, respectively). The elevated station seen at right is the 75th- Elderts Lane stop on what is now the J train. The stairway leading to the platform has been removed.
