122 William Street ca. 1913
This Dutch colonial building was made of brick imported from Holland and in 1913 was said to be one of the oldest homes still standing from the New Amsterdam settlement. Located near the site of the pre-Revolutionary War Battle of Golden Hill, the building housed the Golden Hill Tavern, which was a popular rendezvous for Revolutionary figures like George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette and Benedict Arnold during the Revolutionary War. The building was demolished in 1919.
