Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum
The Pieter Claesen Wyckoff House includes the oldest surviving built structure in New York City; fittingly, the house was the first New York City landmark to be designated after the establishment of the Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1965. The west wing of the Wyckoff House appears to have been built around 1652, with the main section added around 1740. Owner by Wyckoff descendants until 1901, the house was repurchased by the Wyckoff Family Foundation in 1961 and donated to the city in 1969. It was been largely reconstructed (Oppenheimer, Brady & Vogelstein, architect) and is now a museum.
