Plaza Hotel ca. 1907

Although it was constructed in 1907, the Plaza is still one of the most elegant of the great New York hotels, having sheltered many of the notables who have visited the city in the past half-century. It was designed by Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, architect of the Dakota Apartments on Central Park West. Its high roofs remind us of a French Renaissance chateau.
