This full-fledged triumphal arch bearing aloft a sculptured quadric is a symbol of civic pride as well as a memorial to the soldiers and sailors it honors. It makes the principal entrance to Brooklyn's most beautiful park and closes the long vista of Flatbush Avenue most effectively.
