Dyckman House

Although the Dutch founded New York (New Amsterdam), there are few houses left to remind us of their presence. The last of the step-gabled town houses disappeared with our grandfathers, and all that remain today are a few Dutch Colonial farmhouses in Brooklyn and Queens and this reconstructed farmhouse in Manhattan.
