Nearing Ninety--Regina Margareten, matriarch of the famed matzo-manufacturing firm, Horowitz Brothers & Margareten, who will be 90 years old on Friday, Dec. 25. The gracious lady is still the power behind the multi-million dollar business she developed from a neighborhood grocery store in New York. (New York, NY, 12/20/53)
Regina Howoritz-Margareten, a Hungarian-Jewish immigrant American, quickly became matriarch of a kosher food dynasty, business woman and yes, "matzo queen" (which also sounds like a great name for a drag queen.)
