83rd Precinct Police Station and Stable
ARCHITECT: William B. Tubby DATE: 1894-95 STYLE: Romanesque Revival
The imposing 83rd Precinct Police Station and connecting stable dominates this intersection in Bushwick. A fine Romanesque Revival structure, it was hailed as one of the best-equipped and most handsome police stations in the world. Its most prominent feature is a corner tower with small, brick arches carried on a series of corbels below the crenellations. The small stable is connected to the station house by a one-story cell block wing.
