Nineteenth Century impresario William Niblo was the proprietor of the fashionable Niblo's Garden, a theatre that featured sensational entertainment from acrobats to vaudeville to opera. An entertainer in all aspects of his life, Niblo was known to host picnics for friends in front of his spectacular white marble mausoleum, which dates to the 1850's. He even stocked Crescent Water with goldfish to entertain his guests!
