Often referred to simply as "The Poet's Mound," the monument to McDonald Clarke is one of the oldest at Green-Wood, dating to 1842. Created by sculptor Robert E. Launitz, it bears a relief portrait of Clarke, is inscribed with one of the poet's verses, and bears the epitaph, "Poor McDonald Clarke - Let silence gaze, but curse not his grave."
