The Synod of Bishops Russian Church is located in Carnegie Hill neighborhood of Manhattan's Upper East Side. The L-shaped 4-story Building was constructed in 1917 in neo-Federal style. The main entrance is flanked by Tuscan columns, supporting a high entablature surmounted by an iron railing.
The courtyard elevation has a slightly projecting pavilion with a central architectural unit, enframed in stone, composed of a doorway with an arched window above crowned by a round-arched pediment on consoles. The Building was listed in the National Register in 1982 and as part of the Park Avenue Historic District and, also designated as New York City landmarks (Exterior).
