“Vanderbilt Avenue, at the southeast corner of Willoughby Avenue, showing the Chas. E. Pratt Mansion and stables. October 12, 1940.”
Charles Pratt, an oil magnate and philanthropist, founded and endowed the Pratt Institute in Clinton Hill in 1887. The stable has since been demolished, but the main house has remained largely unaltered under the stewardship of the sisters of St. Joseph’s College, where it is now known as Founders Hall.
