The Mutual Life Insurance Co., Chase National Bank and Equitable buildings are visible in the background, along Cedar Street. The Queen building, a steel-frame structure completed in 1897, was part of the “superblock” razed in the mid-1950s ahead of the construction of One Chase Manhattan Plaza.
