Newtown - Metropolitan Avenue - Middle Village

Metropolitan Avenue - SE corner of Fresh Pond Road & Metropolitan Ave. The little house in the center was the LIRR Fresh Pond Station (Bushwick Junction). The triangular plot of 7 3/4 Acres was bought by Brunjes on 6-26-1862 for $5,252, a few years later 1 3/4 acres here were sold to the railroad for the same amount, and the remainder was sold in 1909 to the Bushwick Junction Real Estate Co. for $50,000.
