The Presbyterian Hoapital was founded in 1868 and the first buildings opened in 1872, on land given by James Lenox. In 1889 most of the oiginal buildings were dest oyed by fire, and as a result the entire scheme was rearanged. These buildings on Park Avenue are surgical pavillions; part of the Administration Building is shown on 70th Street. See also Madison Avenue.
