Manhattan: Broadway - Rector Street
Broadway, st the S. W. corner of Rector Street. Shown is the building in which the financier Russell Sage was the object of a bomb explosion that injured an innocent bystander. This structure was replaced in 1897 by the 21 story Empire Building. On the right is a view westward on Rector Street to Trinity Place. The Rector Street station of the Sixth Avenue Elevated Line appears there. At the margin is a portion of Trinity Churchyard.
