Manhattan: 5th Avenue - 23rd Street

Fifth Avenue, west side, from 23rd to 24th Street, showing also a view of the north side of 23rd Street, facing west. The picture gives an excellent view of the 23rd Street, Fifth Avenue, and Broadway fronts of the Fifth Avenue Hotel. The scaffolding and chute at the left centre would indicate that demolition work on the famous old structure has actually begun. At any rate, it is abandoned, as its bare windows testify.
