Manhattan: 42nd Street - Vanderbilt Avenue

60 to 72 East 42nd Street, south side, west of Pershing Square (Park Avenue), showing the Lincoln Building site under preparation. Here, formerly stood the old seven story structure housing the LLincoln National Bank and Safe Deposite Co. and the five story Hotel Athens. Both of these extended through the block to 41st Street and their demolition has ooened a view of buildings on the south side of that street. The dark structure to the left is the old Murray Hill Hotel. Adjonig same are two low buildings numbered 58 & 56 E. 41st Street. The Chemists Club is No. 50-54, the ten story dominant. A four story affair, No. 46-48 separates this from the twelve story office building, No. 40-44. The latter adjofng the . E. corner structure at
Mndison Avenue.
