This was the home of Dr. H.M. Folkes. He came to Biloxi in the late 1890's to work as a physician at the Ship Island Quarantine Station. He later opened the Biloxi Sanitorium and Health Resort. This home was built in 1919 and named Gunston Hall. After Dr. Folke's death in 1926, the property was eventually sold. In the late 1960s, the home was turned into a restaurant called The White Pillars. Despite hurricane damage in both Hurricane Camille and Hurricane Katrina, the house still stands and is currently still serving as a restaurant.
