The Count Benachi House was originally located in the middle of what is now Benachi Avenue, but was moved slightly west of Benachi Avenue around 1903 when the road was extended from Beach Blvd. to Howard Avenue. The local story is that Count Benachi lined the driveway to his home's original location by planting oak trees on either side which grew into a covered archway to his home. This oak tree-lined street became Benachi Avenue.
