The Kennedy Hotel opened in 1901. It was a popular place for travelers to rest, and located conveniently to the passenger depot of the L&N train station. The Kennedy Hotel suffered against the larger, more luxurious resorts of the 1920's. Although it was still standing, in 1971, the building was demolished as a part of urban renewal in Biloxi.
